Skin Rejuvenation

One of the main features of an ageing face is the deterioration in skin quality. Sun exposure, poor diet and smoking are some of the factors that lead to thinning and loss of elasticity in the supportive layer of our skin called the Dermis. This results in the formation of folds and lines, sagging and skin irregularities. Most concerning is the sun damage which leads to pigmentation changes, sun spots and skin cancers.

An important part of my facial assessment is the evaluation of the quality of my patient’s skin and skin treatments are considered together with surgical options.

Treatments that I offer are Glycolic and TCA skin peels, Botox and Hyaluronic Acid fillers and a simple skin product range that matches your skin type and current skin care and includes effective sun protection.

Laser and light skin treatments are offered at my Laser Clinic, Beacon Bay Aesthetic Laser Centre, and range from milder pigmentation and blemish correction (photofacials) through to fractionated CO2 resurfacing which gives remarkable improvement in facial lines, evens out irregularities and tightens the skin through collagen stimulation which lasts for years.

Lastly, the internal support of the skin is critical. Here our genetics plays a major role along with nutrition and hormonal balance and a healthy lifestyle. There are now hundreds of products offering stimulation of the skin through growth factors, vitamins and anti oxidants. Several techniques are also available to improve the collagen such as radiofrequency, needling, carbon dioxide injections and mesotherapy. I am particularly interested in the stimulation of Adipose Derived Stem Cells as seen in fat grafting and look forward to future developments.
